Advance Care Pharmacy is an ACHC accredited Specialty Pharmacy. At this time, there is not a clear definition of what a specialty medication is and different organizations will classify medications differently. However, there are several typical characteristics of a Specialty Medication:

• They treat complex, chronic conditions
• They require ongoing clinical assessment and follow up
• They are more complicated to administer, typically by injection or infusion
• They tend to be expensive, often costing several thousand dollars per dose
• They have specific storage requirements
